Moving right along, the sheet metal has been all fit and we are happy with the body lines. Here, after the front clip was blasted a final time, epoxy primer is applied to the exterior. This customer wants the underside of the car, the engine compartment and undersides of the fenders and quarter panels to be semi-gloss black. This is a 'showy driver' so we have applied POR-15 rust preventative paint over the clean metal. It will need no further treatment. Not appropriate for a show finish or an accurate restoration, it is a durable product that really works as advertised. It will also be applied to all inside surfaces, such as inside the door shells, trunk and cabin floors as a protectant. This will all be upholstered over and not seen.
